What to Expect During & After Your Procedure
We believe an informed patient is an empowered patient. Here's a general overview.
During Your Procedure
- Arrival: You'll check in and be guided to a pre-procedure area where our nurses will prepare you for treatment.
- Comfort: Local anesthesia will be administered, and sedation options may be available to ensure your comfort.
- Precision: Our specialists use advanced imaging (fluoroscopy or ultrasound) to precisely guide the procedure, minimizing discomfort and maximizing accuracy.
- Duration: Most interventional pain procedures are minimally invasive and typically take 15-45 minutes to complete.
After Your Procedure
- Recovery: You'll spend a short time in our recovery area for observation before being discharged. You'll need someone to drive you home.
- Instructions: You'll receive detailed post-procedure instructions, including activity restrictions, medication guidance, and what to expect during recovery.
- Follow-up: A follow-up appointment will be scheduled to assess your progress and determine any further steps in your pain management plan.
- Side Effects: Mild soreness or bruising at the injection site is common. Serious complications are rare, and we'll discuss all potential risks beforehand.
